The ABS-CBN Christmas ID was brilliant! The team behind the project did it for the station once again! The concept was really simple, yet it was very successful in capturing the Christmas spirit and delivering it right into the TV sets of every Filipino home. The 4-minute video focused on how Filipinos (may) spend the season despite all of the problems that our nation has been currently experiencing. To let the televiewers feel the message even better, the station’s roster of stars and talents were there, together with the “ordinary people”, laughing it out, singing Christmas carols, going to Church for the Simbang Gabi, and enjoying every bit of what the Yuletide season has to offer. The theme, “Tuloy na Tuloy pa rin ang Pasko” – a remake of the APO song, performed by Orange and Lemons – gave the ID a more Pinoy touch to it, and clearly depicted the present situation of the country.
Ang pag-ibig sana’y maghari…
Sapat nang si Hesus ang kasama mo,
Tuloy na tuloy parin ang pasko!”
Even without savvy special effects, the whole package – the concept, the photography, the song, and the simplicity – did the trick to make the station ID beautiful and elegant, while occasionally giving you goosebumps during its entirety. And what’s most important, is it never failed to spread the message across…that with our family and Christ inside our hearts, nothing can stop us from feeling the warmth and joys of this Christmas season. Yun ‘yon! Ü

*I’ve uploaded a clean copy of the theme song performed by Orange and Lemons, and the original version by APO Hiking Society in my Multiply account. Please feel free to check them out here—>Goodies!
