Legally BLONDER!

After seeing the first Legally Blonde movie last night, I wasted no time, popped the sequel in my player and watched it until I laughed my brains out.

Here in ‘Red, White and Blonde’, Elle’s about to get married. But before doing so, she faces this major dilemma to search for Bruiser’s biological mother having felt that it was so incomplete if her dog’s mom wouldn’t be present at her wedding day. With the help of an investigator, they found out that Bruiser’s mom was held captive as a test animal in a Versace lab. She tried to buy the dog out and campaigned for the animals to be freed from the lab, but the company (who owns Versace and incidentally, is the same company that she works for as a legal consultant) was so snotty and arrogant. Her actions then caused her termination from work. Driven by her will, she now embarks on a trip to Washington, D.C. to pass a bill against cosmetics testing on animals to the congress. And that’s where it all starts…

In my opinion, this film has got to have the most twisted, convoluted and unrealistically shallow plot that I have ever seen. It’s extremely horrible! Joke. Honestly, it’s one of the funniest and craziest films that I have ever watched. And I’ve never laughed so hard for a movie like this for a very, very long time. Oo may kababawan, pero it definitely has some sense in it. I was moved by how one person, and a kikay blonde at that, raised her voice, stuck to her ideals, at hindi nagpatinag just to fight for what’s right. I know a theme like that can be commonly seen in so many movies to date, but what sets this film apart from the others is how they delivered everything in one infectiously humorous and ‘impeccably kikay’ package. Sobra talagang nakakatuwa yung mga characters dito. The characters that I liked the most were Paulette the hairdresser, the kongresistas, Elle’s co-workers and their initial rudenesses, Sid the guard, the very supportive Delta Nu sorority members from all across the 50 states, at siyempre…di mawawala si Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) and her eternally funny Snap Cup! Ang saya talagang panoorin ng dumb-kikay-smart character nya.

Overall, ‘Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde’ (ang haba ng title!) was very entertaining. Even if it turned out to be like some sort of a highly publicized movie campaign of the PETA (People for The Ethical Treatment of Animals) peeps, I consider this sequel better than the first film. And I’ll definitely look forward to seeing the third installment of this series.
