Live for Today
NATALIE GRANT

I’m such a sucker for music with themes/lyrics that uplift the listener’s spirits. You know, the types that go as if it’s giving you a pat on the back and encouraging you to show the whole wide world that you’ve got what it takes, and that you can definitely kick some ass. Thanks to Andi Manzano’s Multiply account (Magic 89.9’s Andi-9), I have discovered this gem of a song – Live for Today, by Natalie Grant. This is like, the only song that made me get over my almost incurable ‘How To Save a Life’ obsession.
‘Live for Today’ has a bit of a “preachy” feel to it, which is not a bad thing. It’s actually good ‘coz it goes perfectly with the poppy tune. And ummm…it conveys a strong message that although the past is a part of our lives, what’s most important is what we are doing NOW, because that will determine what we will be tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, next month, the month after next month, next year, the year after next year, and so on! So we must “let our little light shine like there’s no tomorrow”. Or in short, no force on earth can stop us from doing our own THANNGGG! Perfect for a graduation song, no?
—To end this post, I’d like to thank my friend Mitch for letting me use her wonderful photos for my imaginary cover art/logo up there! Want more? I advise you to visit her magical blog and her mystical photo gallery right now. (Magical?! Mystical?! Ano ba!!! Walang pakelamanan! Ano ngayon kung gusto ko gamitin yung “magical” at “mystical”? Trip ko eh. Haha!)
