As I celebrate my nineteenth birthday, I’ve got four simple blessings to be grateful for; four people (or groups of) who have changed me from who I was YESTERDAY; molded me to who I am TODAY; and will continue to inspire me to be who I will and should be TOMORROW.
First, I am very much thankful that I have my wonderful family. Thank you for serving as my ultimate inspiration in life. Part of my goals and ambitions are driven towards making you healthy, wealthy, happy and proud! You are one of the very motivations why I’m staying strong to pursue this course, and living my life accordingly. Who they see right now as “me” are reflections of the influences that you have planted within “me”. For nurturing me, thank you.
Second, for the presence of my enthusiastic friends. Thank you for all the support, criticisms, and words of encouragement. I would’ve fallen apart a long time ago were it not for all of you who stood up beside me through many things that happened in my life. From childhood friends to acquaintances, to ‘frenemies’, and up to my current circle of peers, I could not have possibly become even half of myself right now if you’re not there.
Third goes to my ever dearest mentors. This applies to everyone who have helped me formulate what ideals, principles and aspirations I possess right now. I would not have grown as a person if not for the knowledge and wisdom that I have gotten from the learning experiences you have shared with me. My head would not have expanded like this if you had not been there! Haha!
And last, but very much not the least…thank you GOD for being there. Thank you for the intellect, the strength, the blessings, and the enlightenment that you continually provide me every day that I walk on this earth. Thank you for letting the people that I have mentioned above touch my life. If you had not created them, I could have possibly been somewhere far from where I am now. Thank you for putting me where I am today and for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your plan; and most especially Dear God, thank you for bringing me my parents. Simply put, thank you for the LIFE.
As I observe this day marking my nineteenth year of being alive, I believe that what I have accomplished in life at this age is not so important. I did not make this post to celebrate myself. I wrote this to celebrate, honor, and give credit to the PEOPLE AROUND ME; those people who, even at this early stage of my life, have helped COMPLETE me. And again, even if I say it a trillion times, I won’t be tired; to ALL…
THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF ME.
I LIVE BECAUSE OF YOU.
